Macharian Crusade - Colonel Ackland

Colonel Ackland is a Cavalry Officer who fought with Crassus' Fifth Army during the Macharian Cruasde, this conversion is based on the Colonel-Commissar Gaunt model with an WFB Empire Outrider horse, with legs, lower torso, arms and pith helmet sculpted from green stuff.

Rules for Colonel Ackland can be found on page 55 of the Macharian Crusade Campaign Mini-Dex produced by and available for download from the Bell of Lost Souls at; http://belloflostsouls.blogspot.com/

That is pretty impressive. Do you have a similarly model unit for him to lead.

Glad to see this model done. You have done a great job. I ended up making Crassus for my 5th Army Cadians. Would have been epic to see two officers on the field of battle against the Orks of Calverna!

Most of the way down the page for pic of Crassus:

An awesome model, Colonel. I also appreciate that you bring your work to the 40konline forum, too.
It's nice to have you back in action.

Thanks guys! :)

eriochrome, not yet, but there will be in due course!

kings, nice one, I'll be popping over to have a look once I've done this!

Tim, dont I know it lol, I'd be slightly loathe to change em much as I'd feel compelled to redo the whole army then, one day, one day!

Anon, I'll certainly except that, I'm still pondering whether to glaze down the stark black shading, though I have to say I'm rather fond of it, the mouth is a bit beyond my control, while the eyes are done in such a way as too stare forward - something like shown in this classic painting of the Scots Grey's at Waterloo.
