Sculpting Pith Helmetted Heads (Part 4)

Some progress on the heads (actually only as a result of some waste putty while working on the Ogryns!), this is the second head, the first one which was pictured in the previous post is getting some more drastic surgery as I was'nt happy with the mouth as it worked out.

This one is getting quite close to being finished now, a little more work on the jaw, a chin strap and he's just about finished, the Ogryns are still top of the pile so these are a side line at the moment, I'll get the first head finished next and then start work on some more.

That is a very good face sculpt. Well done you - love the pith too.

Nice work! However, the head now looks way too tall. For future helmets, you might need to angle it back down more at the back, keep the front where it is. Compare how this helmet sits with that of an actual pith helmet on someone's head, this one looks like it's filled with something holding it up off his head.

The face, on the other hand, absolutely fantastic!

Thanks Siph_Horridus.

Anon, thankyou, wish you had a name so I could say thankyou properly mind! I think your right, I think I've balanced the helmet on the hears but angled it too high on the front of the head, not to late to change it though, I'll have a go and see if I cant correct that!

Nice work sir! I'll be honest, I was quite doubtful when you stated that you'd be sculpting your own conversion pack heads, because decent looking faces are pretty much the hardest thing you can do. I'll hold up my hands and say that I was wrong. Sorry I doubted you, that guy looks awesome!

Anon, in all honesty I had quite a few doubts myself! They are damn difficult thats to be sure - there have been plenty of failiures other then the ones I've pictured!

Just wondering what has happened to these heads you were working on, is there any chance you could do a step by step how to..........
