Hah, finally I have the new codex, why so late? Well I was away on release day, and though I had a nose previously that was about it. The first thing I'm doing is taking a fairly typical list I was fielding under the old codex and re-price it with the new one, so here is the old....
and now the new... with old units repriced and ones which are no longer available, otherwise known as Marbo, removed.
So what changes to make?
Well the first port of call is the Lord Commissar, his roll previously was to make sure orders were followed using the Aura of Discipline. Under the old dex it specifically stated that his leadership could be so used for orders, but the way I'm reading it that is no longer the case as the Aura is used only for Fear, Pinning and Morale - which I would take to be break tests, not leadership tests. Any thoughts on that, am I wrong?
If that is indeed the case I'll be waving bye bye to the Commissar, the Flamer can also go from the Command HQ and Platoon HQ for the moment, giving me 140pts to play with.
Now this leaves me more then a little torn. I could add another Tank, or Scions (which I really do want to play with, I love the models and they are a tastier option now). I could add more Infantry, or of course bring back my beloved Roughriders, which given they now have a Pistol & Close Combat Weapon in addition to their Lances (AT LONG LAST!!) are that little bit more useful.
That of course is exactly what I'll do, so 65pts will go on a 6 man squadron of those, a further 75pts will go straight on a second Heavy Bolter equipped Heavy Weapons Squad for now bringing me back upto 1500pts.

The Infantry have remained the same, with a ten point swap between the Veterans and their transport. The HQ's have gone up by 15pts, the Manticore by 10pts and the Vendetta by 40pts, but the Eradicator has dropped a tasty 40pts as well.

Now that all said, I think the new Heavy Weapons Squad will be replaced by a Wyvern just as soon as I can get one put together, I'm also tempted to drop the Manticore in favour of a second Eradicator leaving me 40pts, enough for some Snipers - either Ratlings of a Special Weapons Squad - or perhaps some of the other new toys, maybe even dropping an Infantry Squad in favour of some Scions. Oh the possibilities!

Ooh - I've been planning a post just like this...and probaly a broadly similar outlook.
I'm sure you're correct about the Lord Commissar's Ld - a pity - but if you're in the mood for a character then Yarrick is properly (and I mean properly) tasty now. He issues orders too, for godssake! Faeit 212 did a brief piece on him: http://natfka.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/commissar-yarrick-rules-roost.html and even without powergaming silliness his impact now is pretty hard to ignore.
I love the look of your first draft new list...and I had a sneaky feeling you might be fairly made-up about the Eradicator!
Your infantry platoons still scare the crud out of me.

I think we all are doing the same mental list gymnastics with our new lists.
All in all, I’d say your list looks pretty solid to me.
One note on the veterans: they haven’t really dropped 10 points, it’s just that Krak grenades are now an optimal 10p upgrade. The next time the boys charge a vehicle they may curse the logistic officer that deicide they didn't need grenades any more :)
I think your Manticore will be missed if you drop it. It is still such a good killer!
As for me, I'm stoked that rough riders have a pistol and a close combat weapon but I am disappointed that they didn't become 2 wounds like death riders. With the point reduction to conscripts I'm trying to work them into my list now. At 3 points each they will be my new walking defence line...very draconian but drastic times call for drastic measures and life is cheap in the Imperium.
Conscripts? - Nooooooo! Too much painting!
Plus, what would conscripts look like for you guys - a "native contingent"?
I fully intend to run my Griffons as Wyverns, too.
Going through the same. Now to build some 'Katyushas' to use as Wyverns with the Vostroyans.
Well I had only written 1250pts list never got around to playing 2000pts. However I will be adding a lot more leman russ tanks, with Pask in a vanquisher, destroying light armour.
