Manticore (Part 1)

I fell in love with the Manticore kit when it came out, though not the Deathstrike, and picked one up with almost indecent haste, and now with a tournament on the horizon which requires rather alot of work for my army it's finally work in progress.

I'm sticking with my standard Grey colour scheme with the upper section and one side of the hull now finished, I'll press on with the other side and the belly over the next few days.

Nice!

I've been thinking a lot about getting one of these myself...

What's the tourney?

Interested to follow what you do with it, too...

As always, inspiring work. Love the crisp, clean lines. Looking forward to seeing the rest.

I'm glad you're finally done with the helmets! You were making be feel inadequate. :)

Can't wait for more follow ups on the Manticore.

Wow! You edge highlighted the whole thing! That must have taken ages to complete. And did you hand paint the shading too?
Excellent work!

Thanks gents :)

Admiral Drax, the tourny is the 40k Team Tournament run by Maelstrom games, it's my local clubs replacement for the Throne of Skulls this year, if the reports of some of our guys who went up for the recent Warmachine event there are anything to go by it should be a hell of a fun event.

Koppenflak, guily as charged lol, and I now what you mean, so easy to buy lovely new models, getting them painted or even assembled sometimes is another matter entirely!

Antipope, aye, hence being a bit slow, thankfully the shading is all just a Badab Black wash and then another coat of grey these days.

You around for a game next week? Need some new togs for work, so I could swing by Isca...and I have spousal permission, too!

Looks fantastic! The black lining gives it great definition - I'll look forward to seeing more!
